MUSICIANS OF ALL AGES Record Your Own CD ENTER LOPEZ ARTIST ADVANCE
WHAT - Auditions are being held to select a musician or musical group to receive the opportunity to work with an experienced producer and manager to record a professional quality CD, and explore career advancement. Other artists will be selected from the auditions to participate in an on-going artist development group and perform in a concert in the fall. In addition, a workshop will be held, open to community artists of all types--authors, visual artists, musicians, etc—to explore career choices in the arts, what their steps are for developing or furthering their talent and their careers, and learn how to become more self-sustaining.
WHEN — Auditions will be held April 30, 2007 through May 4, 2007, from 4-9pm. The recipient will be announced May 16, 2007, along with the four acts chosen to be in the artist development group. Recording will begin in June and run (intermittently) throughout the summer. Applications are due Friday April 20, 2007.
WHERE—Auditions, and the recording of the selected artist, will be held on Lopez.
WHO CAN ENTER — All musicians ages 12 and up in any genre of music can apply: all students, teachers, and any community adults. Artists can audition solo or as a group and can audition more than once--both solo and as part of a group. Music can be original material, cover songs of any era, instrumental only, or with vocals. Vocalists, who do not play an instrument, may also apply.
