Demo CD TITLE: The Lopez Sessions CD REVIEW: A mix of pop-rock with a touch of blues and country, and solo acoustic songs, this demo gives a good feel for the talent of this singer-songwriter. Catchy, fun, romping, touching ... it's kind of all there. He's early in his process as a song writer and his personal style will evolve and become more cohesive, and specific to a personal vision. I hope he continues with music as he pursues his love for teaching and environment. Website:www.tetumusic.com MySpace:www.myspace.com/jeanjacquestetu
When
the auditions were over for Lopez Artist Advance, we couldn't choose
only one winner. So we didn't. We raised additional funds to record a
demo for this talented young man. The initial idea was to give him the
chance in the studio to explore and develop his own individual sound,
since most of his focus had been on the songs of his musical heros. I
also wanted to encourage his song writing. We met a number of times
with this in mind and, surprisingly, by the time we went into the
studio, Jean-Jacque had applied himself with such success that he had
grown by leaps and bounds and thus the five song demo became a
full-length demo. Titled The Lopez Sessions, it includes five songs
that
are lightly produced and six more showcasing
his strength solo acoustic. He wrote all the songs for the demo, it
shows ability as a songwriter. I'd say that this new artist is very
strong and just getting started.
Jean-Jacques
is a lot of fun, and a great guy too. He's kind of irresistible
personally, and as a performer. His songs are hooky little things that
stick in my head. He has the ease of a musician who does it cuz he
really loves to, and that's very appealing. The goal with Jean-Jacques
was to really get him turned on as a songwriter, and get him started in
musical explorations that will help him find his own unique musical
voice, and I think he got a good start. Jean-Jacques Tetu: great voice
and good songs, terrific guitar player, he also loves teaching and the environment. It will be fun to see how he combines these passions.
